The Art Department now offer an Art foundation Course which sits between A' Levels and Degree Courses. This week our Foundation Students have been working collaboratively on a group project. The outcome was this intriguing and multifaceted installation.

This artwork was based on Cornelia Parker's recent exhibition at the Whitworth Art Gallery and draws inspiration from art movements such as arte povera and conceptualism.

'It's been great to meet the first groups of students enrolling for the art courses -fine art, graphic design,  fashion and textiles , photography and 3d design , today. We're looking forward to seeing lots more of you tomorrow - come and see us to discuss your art options. You can study 1, 2 or 3 arts as part of your AS programme. The art staff are on hand to show you sketchbooks and help you decide which pathway is for you.
If your results are not what you expected,  come and see us anyway - Ashton Sixth form College has courses and pathways to suit all.'
