Today was Enrichment Day for our first year students. In the art department we were making decorative blackboards and hand made notebooks.

A new academic year. Our Foundation students have been asked to bring in a personal item and to experiment with different drawing techniques to represent it's 3-dimensional form with creative use of abstracted linework.

End of Year Show

Preparations are underway for the annual art show at Ashton Sixth Form College, where our second year students exhibit their best work from their time studying here. It is so good to see work from Fine Art, Graphic Design, Photography, 3D Design and Textiles all exhibited together in one venue before the students leave us to start their future employment or higher education.

Visit to Manchester School of Art Degree Show

Yesterday, our first year art students visited Manchester School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University to see the art degree shows. Our students gathered lots of inspiration for their chosen theme for next academic year's projects and got a good idea of what is on offer should they decide to study at University.
